Intermediate level
Intermediate level course is were you start painting figures in a small scale. After mastering the basic techniques you will be confident enough to enter the vast area of mural painting were the key element will be figures. Each diety figure are painted as mentioned in 'Dhyana Shlokas'. 'Dhyana Shlokas' are narrative couplets in sanskrit. They are found in puranas and many ancient texts. The appearance and emotion of each diety is mentioned in the shlokas.
Course details
There are two themes to select. Each theme is based on specific 'Dhyana Shlokas' . The mesurement system used here is in 'Pancha Thalam'. Thalam refers to an old measurement unit which was used in sculpting figures (temples) and painting murals.
Theme 1 : Balaganapathy
Balaganapathy is the childform of lord Ganesha or Vinayaka. The figure is painted in 'Pancha Thalam'. Here Balaganapathy is in a standing posture. Different design motifs are used to decorate the background such as latha, bhithipoov etc. Intricate detailing of the ornaments and the body are present.
The student will be taught to sketch, with specific measuremtns and paint using different shading techniques in a step by step manner. One practice theme will be provided along with this theme for students who wish to join directly.
At the end of the course the student will be having 2 completed paintings.

Medium of instruction
Instructions in pre-recorded videos are in Malayalam. English subtitles are added who does not understand Malayalam. The tutor will be communicating in Malayalam/English.

Acrylic colors - Permanent Yellow Deep, Permanent Yellow Medium, Yellow Ochre, Scarlet Lake, Burnt Sienna, Prussian Blue, SAP Green, Viridian Hue and Acrylic Black.

Brushes - 000/00 long hair or any other pointed brush, Round brushes (Size 7/8/9)

Theme 2 : Chathurakshari Gopalam
Chathurakshari Gopalam portrays Little Krishna sitting on a lotus flower. Precious gems and stones are pouring out from the lotus flowers, hanging from the Kalpa Vriksham, the all giving divine tree. In his both hands he carries butter.
This painting is done in 'Pancha Thalam'. Here Krishna is in a sitting posture. The measurements used here varys from the standing posture. The student will be taught to sketch, with specific measuremtns and paint using different shading techniques in a step by step manner. Two practice themes are provided along with this theme for students who wish to join directly. At the end of the course the student will be having 3 completed paintings.

How classes are conducted?
All our classes are conducted in google classroom with the help of detailed pre-recorded videos. Each section of the selected theme has a seperate video, which explains the process in detail. The student will start on a practice sheet. She/He are expected to watch the first video (ie., sketching), which will be available in the classroom. After watching the video completely the student will start sketching on a practice sheet. When the sketching is over, she/he will be sending the image to the tutor via WhatsApp. The image will be reviewed by the tutor and will be sending it back with the necessary corrections and instructions. The student will be making the correction in the practice sheet and sending it back again for review. This process will continue until the sketching is perfect. After succesful completion of each step the next video will be added to the classroom. The tutor will be available on class WhatsApp from 10 am till 10 pm (12 hrs, all days) for guiding, corrections and clearing doubts. So, there is no time duration and specific timings for the class.
